Our company Bernardini Tartufi has always placed great importance on interaction with the environment, considering the respect for, and the protection of the environment and its fruits, one of the core values on which to base the entire corporate policy.
Our own products remind us how important it is to preserve and protect the delicate natural balances: in fact, truffles spring up spontaneously in totally uncontaminated areas, far from massive crops and from any type of pollution that inhibits their growth.
For this reason, we believe that it is necessary to adopt daily measures that limit as much as possible our impact on the environment.

Our commitment is realized in concrete actions:

• We reduce the use of plastic whenever possible. In fact we mainly use glass jars or aluminum cans;
• We use environmentally friendly, recyclable, biodegradable and PCFC certified pallets;
• We use local raw materials, encouraging the economic activities of our territory and reducing the emission of pollutants due to long-distance transport into the environment;
• We do not produce CO2 or hazardous waste in full compliance with the environmental legislation;
• We regularly train our staff in order to prevent them from engaging in behaviors that could be harmful to the environment and to health. We are regularly engaged in protecting safety at work and upholding the value of the worker within the production process: it is in fact essential that the employee understands the importance of his role in the company and the responsibility he has in ensuring the quality of the products and the services provided;
• We are committed to the process of separating materials for proper waste separation;
• We recover materials that are considered “waste” by reintegrating them into the production cycle. The soil coming from the harvested truffles, for example, contains several organic substances that are very useful for the natural mycorrhization of truffles. The brine used for the sterilization of truffles, however, is an excellent natural flavoring to be added in food preparations;
• To help the consumer with the packaging disposal, we have added an environmental label on each packaging containing all the information needed to make a proper waste separation;
• Moreover, the packaging of our products approaches the Zero waste movement, that is the philosophy that aims to give new life to objects and materials no longer considered as waste, but as reusable resources.

Almost all Bernardini Tartufi products are in fact contained in practical and easy to reuse glass jars, of different shapes and sizes, with a simple and elegant line.

We live in a society accustomed to “disposable” objects, where everything is affordable, where everything quickly becomes obsolete and needs to be replaced, and the concept of reusing something is now considered almost absurd.
But Bernardini Tartufi is firmly convinced that, by taking small actions, great things can be done, and that changing some daily habits can help save the planet that hosts us.
This is why we try to significantly reduce waste production and why we prefer reusable materials for our packaging.

Our glass jars have a minimal and clean line, and, once removed from the paper label, they perfectly lend themselves to a wide variety of uses.
They can be useful objects in the kitchen and become containers for sauces, jams or homemade sauces (they also are perfect for freezer storage, taking care not to fill them to the brim in order to leave room for the increase in the volume of food due to cold).
The largest jars can easily be transformed into practical containers for pasta, rice, cereals or, with the application of an indicative label, into original jars for salt, sugar, coffee, tea or herbal teas.

Furthermore, their use can undoubtedly move away from the kitchen environment.
With a bit of imagination they can become real pieces of home furnishings and find space in any corner of the house: in fact, with the addition of a string, of a decorative knob or with of a touch of color as well, it is very easy to transform a simple and anonymous glass jar in an original object in line with the house style.

Decorated glass jars are indeed a must in the furnishing of different styles: from vintage to shabby chic, from ethnic to boho, the jars are an excellent white canvas to be personalized according to your tastes and needs.

In addition to being useful storages, they can become original flower vases, romantic candle holders or personalized place cards.
Moreover, with the addition of a simple strip light or light bulbs, they can turn into unusual and striking lamps.
